It looks like a newly-opened Target superstore fail to receive the memo that washing hands is something that everyone is required to do in addition to wearing masks how is it that these stores are claiming to have all these procedures for cleanliness assisting America and keeping it's external and public places clean would mean not closing public restrooms during a massive campaign to clean.

I have seen stores provide extra sanitizer as well as handy wipes for shopping carts I've also seen stores maintain the requirement of mask or face covering while entering stores I have also seen the maintain and number amount for shoppers indoors others have completely closed and denies services based on what they claim is the fear of illness yet how can it be sanitary how can it be clean how can it support the mandate a face mask gloves and not provide wash stations for people.

It seems as America's becoming more and more third world as the President of the United States insisted on calling certain countries that we believe to be third world as shitholecountries yet those countries are providing wash stations in public areas and wash stations for the homeless and in America where they claim the fear and the numbers of fatalities are so high why would services be discontinued why would restrooms be closed why would they want to or insist on promoting unsanitary practices.

This Target superstore includes a mini market for produce groceries as well as a mini Cafe eatery there was once an ordinance in Pennsylvania that required if you served food that you had to have a restroom in in order to guarantee the cleanliness of staff preparing meals for others and to lower the chances of spreading illness and disease while prepping food without proper hand cleaning in between bathroom breaks.

the staff member featured in this photograph was very clear and stating that due to the coronavirus the restrooms were closed I believe if the restrooms are closed so should that establishment be there's a sign posted on the outside of the Target store stating that they give preference to elders and pregnant women neither who could frequent that stores and shoppers if they're denied the opportunity to utilize the restroom facility.

This is a Corona caution story so that if you are in center City Philadelphia you can avoid the newly-established 456 North 5th Street location at 500 spring garden Street because they will refuse you service most importantly a closed restroom so if you have children family or you yourself take medication or may need to use the restroom within an hour or two of shopping I say if they can spare you of the restroom you should spare them of your coin.

The elephant in the room is that a majority if not all of these corporations have been paid already a stimulus as well as paid to participate  and advertise the Plandemic to sell out quick leaving empty shelves to promotr panic, maintain long lines and continue restriction for clients. stores like Walmart are getting paid more money to become a covid 19 testing site are denying long-standing customers the opportunity to exchange or return unused items.

it looks as if these testing sites will be the way that the numbers for those who test positive for corona to sky rocket because the test itself includes the actual disease so it will be guaranteed that all of those tested negative will eventually become positive as their tests itself administered the virus.

In Times like These Social media creates an opportunity for creatives to connect with their future selves. If you could get that without making the mistake that the leveled platforms make you better than your mentors.

While surfing on Instagram I came upon a photograph of one of my favorite actors as well as one of my favorite locations in my hometown. After careful glare I recognized Shaza Zulu?, the actor who played my crush character and part of two who influenced my "I Can Change the world" attitude.

Freddie Brooks was a airheaded college girl with a love for social justice and this tall drank of Watta who played the character "Shaza" was  Gary Dordan and the Female character his girlfriend, Cree Summers.
Not only did they remind me of my real friends they actually felt like poster Children for keeping up the fight for what
is right and non materialistic.

Freddie Brooks was Denise Huxtable's class mate, A natural hippie and her strong black man friend. The on-screen couple gave it's #BlackLove it's 90's introduction on the reel. Dordan's character eventually became a side piece to education so the stories of the college students could evolve. Shaza was painted too Pretty Ricky" for the humble heartfelt character cree played to trully fall for. yet myself and Soo many other  female watchers were hooked on dem, on him.

Since the Cosby show has been thrown into obscurity like babies in bathwater due to a conviction of Creator and Clean Comedian, Bill Cosby's  Higher Education healthy spin off "A Different World" has been overlooked and it's talent underbooked.

The smart progressive half hour television show about black students at Historically Black Colleges held a special place for those who went onto attend higher education and felt the need to succeed.

Each Episode refused to ignore issues of racism, sexism, illnesses as other shows were quick to do and it lacked the quick wit talk back that most black shows offering the idea that name calling and making fun of one another was a primetime showcase.

"Crash and burn" was his caption to the photo taken where I had completed a music video shoot almost 6 months prior. The virtual lightbulb appeared. Even though my bookings were corona cancelled including a show with the legendary Norman Connors in the UK it wasn't over for my music.

I had soo much footage from so many different Productions it was time to complete the video and release it to the world. Gary's photo also spoke to me in ways I needed. It said don't worry about catching up. Crash, Burn and Walk Way on Fire.

That photo was an inspiration for me as his character had been on "A Different World" to be social media validated. (Deep Sigh)  I am a location scout and born hippie. It was great to see him, modern man standing unscathed and un-bothered.* (Un-bothered Like Omarion Can You Feel Me)

This is the moment the world has been waiting on. *"We are the ones we are waiting for" To save ourselves. *Savior Self. It feels just like it did before Myspace was gone and Obama was elected to office *"Can You Hear Me" In "Times Like These" There is opportunity for change.

An opportunity to begin again and Moor inspiration for change.  The post also inspired my husband to edit the entire video in hours over night. Thanks Gary for keeping him on his toes.

It has An Erie sense of timelessness and timelyness all at the same time with a smiley cheeky thick woman in a cherry red fez with what looks like a crashed airplane behind her she jurates, shimmys and shakes  while looking like Sufi's Queen to lyrics like:

In this picture I'm with event producer and dapper comrade, illmatic scream, who is working on a documentary film about the designer, dancer, vocalist. Whose face adorns the poster behind us. 

I had just shared with this sister before this impromptu photo shoot, that the skirt I'm wearing is inspired in part by  Dapper Africa as I would not have worn it otherwise, as concervative as I had been lately. I wore it to push the fashion envelope in Dappers Name. I had on a pair of fresh Nike with it. Which reminded me of him.

Alicia keys effortlessly does it again with her anthem ode to the underdog there are a select few that fit that title In and around the Community, neighborhoods, our families there are those that beat By their own drum you can't quite figure them out and you can't quite count them out they live life Live and in Technicolor.

Dapper Africa was one of those beings. I watched the music video for the underdog and the artist in the music video is dancing with a homeless creative.

I can't help but think of my friend who no longer remains in physical form yet his influences in art and culture are appreciated and  admired and explored daily... this reset, this article goes out to a true underdog, Dapper Africa.

This pre-c gathering gave me hope for the future of creatives who suffer from lack of support. There was years of obscurity before any real recognition for his art. I saw his light burst thru the cracks of the industry... than he was no more. Before his work here was done he saw success by mild standards. these artists, group of magic makers who were left behind to grind gave my heart solitude in the absence of Dappers. It was surreal to attend because I could only reference our conversations in my mind while In attendance unable to grasp his lack of presence.

Everyone present held a gentle relationship with the guest of honor. His mother was in attendance and shared a moving story about dapper going to a party and being able to socialize with some of the top talent of the time and how this was his gift since he was young. Our host and event coordinator, Illmatic Scream was filming for a documentary on our comrade and also was the mc for the affair. 

Beautiful larger than life posters of the creative and his work adorned the interior of the Chelsea Music Hall for attendees to admire as I did the dancers who moved like the lights that we're coordinating across the floor. It was an epic evening with memorable magicians of culture and muse movements that inspire verse rhythm and rhyme. 

The affair was filled with the appreciation for dapper Africa, who would dress the movement of activists, hobo creatives and muses in handmade honey that drips of rise and resistance. 

Dapper and I would speak of our experience in waiting for the reveal. Sharing and shedding the disappearing acts of our sudo supporters who glean from our coat tails just to snatch the coat leaving us naked to crochet a new gown of grown and on our own style sadated enough to work again. The encouragement we gave one another made way for our individual resurgence yet (((We))) had not gotten the opportunity to work with one another again before this reset.

He was an dancer, singer, stylist, jewelry designer, conceptual artist and friend to many. It was than watching the dancing on the dance floor I recognized what Maya angelo said was every so true. "When your gone they may not remember what you said yet they will remember how you made them feel"

Dapper was a person to celebrate your individual qualities to make the portrait of you dynamic and moving and I remember how he made us feel. We felt like Outrageous underdogs wagging our tails at the system that eventually changed.

Damon Reaves, Associate Curator of Education,
Community Engagement and Access

After seeing a panic post on face book from Mr. Damon Reaves about a frame builder pulling out at the last minute on production need of educational director of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and not being able to produce the frame structure of over 10 feet by 4 feet in size. Poetica saw his post and inboxed Damon asking if he still needed help, he confirmed his close to impossible need. She agreed to produce the structure with her own resources if compensated and reimbursed by Museum which  took over 30 days to produce compensation check for the 24 hour turn around time that Poetica Bey Met.  the project was part of a funded grant produced for youth programming at the Philadelphia Museum of the Arts for Beckett Life Center.

Photo of Poetica between performances and rehearsals to spend time in the wood shop in heels to produce the frame immediately, band saws, power sanders, drills amongst many other tools were enlisted to complete the project without
safety wear or proper clothing. Poetica provided the hard wear also for reconstruction of frame after transportation
which was a small personal vehicle driven by Damon.

Oh that's right you don't call it that...You call it black history month and wonder why there is a projection of darkness over the so-called history, what Im trying to say is "Black History" teaches us Columbus discovered America. Heritage History Teaches us We were here before Columbus because "Black is a Mis nomer title...Yet I think I should slow down. I'll start with materialism.

Rich have had a stigma in history for there disdain for the poor and fashion designers have had a healthy rejection of those attempting to align themselves with a brand they feel is out of there price range. therefore, in there eyes tainting there brand, You know like "how can it be posh if 'they' can afford it?.  Remember its the consumer striving to keep up with popular culture that makes them think the designers are speaking to them. Clearly a $900 sweater is being sold to someone making well over a thousand dollars a week not a month. So, the sweater was not expected to be purchased by any of "The Coolest Monkeys in the Jungle" H&M's words not mine. (Smile)

So a Boycott of a Brand that we don't purchase don't quite matter at this point, like black lives. Prada and Gucci were made infamous with drug money. Jay z can now tell you that your 'Still nigga" cause he already sold drugs and drug culture. A culture that tells you once you sell a certain amount of drugs to get you a Gucci or a Prada anything. This Wednesday February 8th 2019 Gucci Pulls there Sambo Sweater off the shelves yet this short cut to black face wasn't even meant for anyone other than those telling the joke, not the subject of the ridicule.

 T.I.,  also a rapper,  Im sure wasn't talking about feathered friends when he spoke of "Birds" and Drug Selling, something this great country was built on, this is a country that allows its pre schools to do re enactments of the "godfather' replacing the cocaine with flour or candy, google it. SO when they promote such a level of materialism there isn't anyway for the youth to now understand a call for a ban from the rubber band man.

Brothers in the hood aren't encouraged to work honest jobs to get rubber bands of cash, well maybe yet I didn't hear T.I. say in his songs his GED afforded him the opportunity to make it rain, as in snow money, if rain drops was doe$, on strippers who are considered "hoes' cause you have to pay them.

The way that a minimum wage bank accounts work is, you can't and you ain't going to be able to do it (Make it rain) on that budget. Spike lee also called for a band saying 'Black Designers" need to be in the room when these decisions are being made. Black people are in "mind" when these companies are being force to be inclusionary, last time we forced inclusion folks got shot, Rev Dr Martin Luther King whose last words to society was "Boycott' the industry you suffer at the hands of and those who refused to make his legacy a holiday now successfully have turned it into a day of service.

Have you heard of Presidents day of service? or Columbus day of service ? These holidays owe a lot to the American People for there blind support of them, they should serve the people better.

Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King's Holiday is a week long of carting people around for service, the opposite of reflection and study. for good reason so y'all would not know the motives of these companies today. This forced inclusion is why they are forced to show you how they feel because you insist on being a customer, insist on sharing style and swapping tips and trading recipes like we all can get along, like it's not a pagent or race to make America Great again, what once was great about America? Cowboys and Engines?

My father, May he rest in Paradise, used to say be careful when so- called white folks want to go back to a time when... cause back then wasn't that great for us. So this homage to 'black history month and flash back to Jim Crow, Blackface, sambo is just an attempt for the oppressors descendants to honor there forefathers.

Trail of tears is our story, The half cast aboriginal Aussie whose genetic was attempted assignation on generations cause there government believed you could wipe the "black' out of a half cast (mixed)
individual by "Kid Nap for Profit". The Mann Act,  laws were developed as a result of Jack Johnson's (boxer) association with so-called "white" women.

So called "White" women labeled and criminalized "black males" Just like Black History Moment 2019 with "Taken" actor who claimed to roam streets with a billyclub looking for black men to beat due to a friend claiming she was victimized by a so-called "black man" that actor was Liem Lesson

Negative Black images in popular culture just like "birth of a nation" released February 8th 1915 credited for reviving The klu klux klan painting them as heros against whites in blackface pretending to be so called "blacks, King Kong, images sold to European women to make them fear or stereotype "black" what once made America great was its distain for "free blacks" and refusal to participate in negro holidays. Pop culture is Grand in the character assignation of its native and indigenous people to steal there land and make them believe they are from anywhere other than where they are even if its fictitious like wakanda as long as it isn't in the boardroom work room in powers of position or economic control.

"The latest instance of that was Italian fashion designer Gucci, which produced a black wool balaclava sweater with an oversized collar that pulls over the chin and nose. It includes a slit where the mouth is, ringed with what look like giant red lips. Its similarity to blackface prompted an instant backlash from the public and forced the company to apologize publicly on Wednesday. Gucci also withdrew the offending garment from sale on websites and stores. It said the incident would be “a powerful learning moment for the Gucci team and beyond.” But the question persists: How can fashion houses that thrive on detail miss such critical social cues? Prada similarly withdrew a monkey bag charm that recalled blackface in December, saying it “abhors racist imagery.” And Dolce & Gabbana issued a video apology after one of the designers made insulting remarks about the Chinese in a private chat discussing the questionable depiction of a Chinese model in a campaign"

Happy Black History Month y’all.” The same person also discovered that Gucci was selling a black hat that looked like the top half of a ski mask, writing, “They have a mask to match so you can have a chic classic black face moment without the mess of paint.” As of early Thursday morning, the pair of tweets had nearly 2,000 comments and had been retweeted roughly 5,300 times combined. `

"The coon caricature was one of the stock characters among minstrel performers. Minstrel show audiences laughed at the slow-talking fool who avoided work and all adult responsibilities. This transformed the coon into a comic figure, a source of bitter and vulgar comic relief. He was sometimes renamed "Zip Coon" or "Urban Coon." If the minstrel skit had an ante-bellum setting, the coon was portrayed as a free black; if the skit's setting postdated slavery, he was portrayed as an urban black. He remained lazy and good-for-little, but the minstrel shows depicted him as a gaudy dressed "Dandy" who "put on airs." Unlike Mammy and Sambo, Coon did not know his place. He thought he was as smart as white people; however, his frequent malapropisms and distorted logic suggested that his attempt to compete intellectually with whites was pathetic. His use of bastardized English delighted white audiences and reaffirmed the then commonly held beliefs that blacks were inherently less intelligent. Hollywood films extended the brutalization inherent in the coon image. The first cinematic coon appeared in Wooing and Wedding of a Coon (Selig, 1905), a stupendously racist portrayal of two dimwitted and stuttering buffoons. Several notable slapstick "coon shorts" were produced in 1910-1911, including How Rastus Got His Turkey (Wharton, 1910) (he stole it) and Chicken Thief (1911). In conclusion I say Somethings are beyond a boycott they need to be forgot. T.I's boycott is a call for a 7 day hiatus not a cold turkey take your money and run situation. Spike lee's call for an overseeing "Black" added to the budget at Gucci would only make them an ignorable minority on the job.

I say these are all signs of America going back to it's core adjenda...Slavery. Thats right. if the powers that be can be successful in swaying popular opinion to believe "Blacks" aren't contributing members of society, only criminals, coons? to be made fun of. that goes far beyond where you spend your money and more into should you have a right to have money. who would accept (Your) money.

There are key imagery in society and popular culture if you only look instead of (see) that can show you that (your) image constantly fighting for exceptance. I say Gucci didn't want anyone who couldn't afford the sweater to see it because it plays to the humor of the targeted buyer.

So, redirect your spending al together. Think about how reverend dr Martin Luther king named the brands you shouldn't trust and those brands have rebranded so a new generation of buyer won't associate its racist ties. Teach and preach that everyone is a star/ celebrity in your house hold put down the idol worship of theses designers, reach there brands and what there politics are and who they invest in.

You will find out trying to keep up with them will leave you broke or broken. Be you, it fits better than any Sambo Sweater Could. Oh and Please check out the link on the graphic at the top of the article.There is 16 days left for walk, speak 4 peace parade attached to a shoe campaign reclaiming fashion and finances from the negative forces that be. It couldn't come at a more needed time, yet it hasn't got one purchase yet.

Gold Sole; A Step Toward Peace On Earth

This new Fashion Buzz is partnering with social change and not in the average cliche way your favorite unconscious artist joins a movement that they didn't even research to seem deep, this movement is in the underground ocean waters of those on the ground, earth level like will smith in Legend. When the hard work is being doing she is the Souljah that can be found. So she decided to use her style to promote peace in the streets. 

I was once captured, a political prisoner of sorts, no warrant, no explanation. I was taken the am after a PSA shoot I produced at our local public access station so I was styled for camera ready work and was adorned in these sunset yellow sneakers I collected and held for the right moment and ended up in a prison system with them on. 

I wasn't supposed to be jailed with shoe laces, yet I had bright yellow sneakers with yellow laces and they became my sunshine on the inside, I walked thru population with these marks of the outside world. I later found out my expereicce was partly due to identity theft, someone had been previously arrested using my name so when I was captured I was treated as that person and held in maximum security prison which was considered G unit, yes just like 50 cent. I was wearing these sunset yellow shoes in maximum security prison with yellow shoe laces and it became a shield for me. 

My guess is since I wasn't guilty of anything they didn't proceed further into removing my shoes so at the wonderment of all the others captured I was able to walk around this way. I,  in a time when I was so powerless my body no longer belonged to me I would look down and take a deep breath and summons the sunshine inside, pull on the peace in me. Since being released from that persecution I have been faced with moments I've had to summons peace in the face of adversity, racism, danger, harassment, intimidation and antagonistic actions to survive the moment.  

"This is how it's in the shoes...Our power over our steps towards success and progress is just like our steps towards Peace...Using fashion to step toward social change was a way I felt I could relate to the youth and those who care enough about there appearance (Those Persons) I felt would also care about the climate of world peace, Caring about peace in their city, Peace in their community, Peace on their Block or Street... them caring makes them effective agents of Change and Promoters of Peace" ~Poetica

I designed these shoes to assist in these moments when standing on your square is a necessity. The Gold soles are essential in creating this. Such a powerful color rarely pulled on which allows maximum ascension. creativity, a needed attribute to calm a room in heat. Yellow is the colour of sunshine. It’s associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy. It produces a warming effect, arouses cheerfulness, and is said to stimulate mental activity and to generate muscle energy. You can use yellow to bring energy and joy into the office or meeting room and create a friendly, pleasant or relaxed working atmosphere. You can stimulate people’s creativity and ways of working with this playful colour and it might make you appear as someone who motivates and inspires others, and passes on their excitement and enthusiasm for their work and their projects.

Her concept, Poeticas Poetry For Peace Parade; An assembly of 33 powerful Poets, Public Speakers, Performers, Musicians sharing stories of Standing in Peace, Running for Peace; Amaud Arbery, Speaking for Peace. I began my poetry as a cry for justice and peace for political prisoner; Mumia Abu Jamal. Former freedom poet Natanya Stewart performed her Poetry for Geronimo Pratt, released after 30+ years captured. Our approach to
Peace can produce freedom if we focus.

"Sister Power in the Sound Hole"

January 13th 2018, a weekday, I was being dropped off at the front door of a brick row home with a porch full of youth of all ages in West Philadelphia when I realized my "Sound Hole" experience would be interesting. I was unsure of the address and so was everyone else attending yet they were certain they would go. It was one of the most brisk evenings of the winter months, a gathering of 200 or more Assembled to bare witness to the empresses somewhere near 45th & Osage; The sisters of Shea, Oshun.

I became familiar with them 2 years prior acquainted with the song "Stuck" which features lyrics like "maybe I need one more loc, a little more shea, another headwrap, or maybe just a day. To sleep, meditate"  this recording was spinning on the concious of the millennials, those who wish they were of age when neo soul and concious hip hop had its debut and floor before Mumble rap and trap music could dominate air waves these sisters and there audience are reminiscent of the 90's and the rare grooves movement yet they were barely old enough to recall it in its prime.

There was an opening act with the oddity of Erykah badu without the unique talent yet held the floor enough to not put everyone to sleep and make attendees appreciate the eventual surfacing of the headlining act. 

The timing of this duo arrive when folks are in need of the depth of spoken soul and spoken word over hot beats and sound in these complicated times. As floetry fell short from feeding the people beyond the first album attempt before breaking up, Oshun has been consistently performing as a team elevating the persona spreading there brand of "Woke" to the people.  

Hip Hop, Hip Soul and conciseness all wrapped up in a sunflower is a good way to explain the vibrations of Oshun. They actually perform in front of large life size stage prop sun flowers. 

In reference to the vibration in the atmosphere everyone entering the environment was torn on how to classify the venue and all they could say was "House Party", a majority of attendees that evening were of various ages, backgrounds and educational levels, couples singles and groups. 

The Atmoshere was filled with Incense, not the traditional kind. The type that made you think of Tahitian temples, yoga and meditation on the beach. The essence was coming from A woman who herself happen to be an artist, Poetica in the middle room who was selling assorted scents of Champa even soaps with Canaibus sativa and a woman selling soft vegan tacos, freshly grilled with mushrooms, onions, green peppers, citrus representing what she called Abenas kitchen. 

The venue's performance space is a gutted basement with a hand built stage platform and added lighting effects. The dozens were Squeezed in the narrow corridor leading to the basement stage and all of a sudden, the sweet sound of women power, self assurance and indie music filled the building. Oshun was on stage. The vibe was high and sound was great. Then I realized why so many crowd themselves in this venue to enjoy these shows, the sound is excellent. It took me back to the real house party days with minimal ambiance and maximum substance. Our sound and lighting design was always on 1000 percent.

Just as Will Smith was able to parlay a career sprung from West Philadelphia basement parties into pure superstardom. The Sound Hole is well on its way to being able to becoming a star making machine if they can continue to produce quality sound and acts like Oshun.
